Through a partnership with Rotary clubs within Area 6 or Rotary District 5170, the AVRC Endowment was able to participate in a large Global Grant to provide much needed X-ray equipment to a small regional rural hospital in Bolivia.

Through a partnership with Rotary District 5170 Area 6 Clubs, the Endowment helped fund the building of a toilet building with hand washing stations at a school in Nigeria. This project also included provisions to train the students in proper hygiene and hand washing.

Through partnership with District 5170 Area 6 Rotary Clubs the Endowment has helped fund fresh water wells in Lagos Nigeria.

Each year the AVRC Endowment funds the volunteer efforts that take fabric and turns it into beautiful and warm blankets for newborns at Valley Medical Center. This year the project will purchase hundreds of yards of fabric to make 700 blankets.

Each year AVRC Endowment hosts two Christmas lunches for Seniors in our community.  Not only providing a steak lunch, but also entertainment and holiday fellowship for all those who participate. — almadenvalleyrotary.org

The Japanese American Museum of San Jose showcases a unique collection of permanent and rotating exhibits chronicling more than a century of Japanese American history. — jamsj.org

Books Aloud is a non-profit organization which has been in existence for over 30 years. We record books onto audio format for those unable to read by conventional means.

With the help of the Almaden Assistance League,  Almaden Kiwanis,  and the Almaden Lions, the AVRC Endowment funded this new sign welcoming eveyone to the Almaden Valley. — almadenvalleyrotary.org

The San Jose Metropolitan Band is a contemporary concert band, playing in the tradition of a community band serenading an afternoon picnic.  We give performances throughout the Santa Clara Valley of California, playing a mix of marches, showtunes, Disney, big band and symphonic classics. — www.sjmetroband.org

Power Soccer is the first competitive team sport designed and developed specifically for power wheelchair users. Athletes’ disabilities include quadriplegia, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and many others. — sjsteamrollers.com

Angels on Stage enhances the lives of children and young adults with special needs by breaking down stereotypes and empowering them to develop friendships, independence, confidence, self-esteem, and general life skills through the medium of professional performing arts. —   angelsonstage.org

Each year the endowment provides for funding of local military families in need.  Through our connections with Operation Care and Comfort we are able to help provide not only soldier care packages but gifts at Christmas for them and their families. https://www.occ-usa.org/

At least four Scholarships to RYLA are funded each year. RYLA aims to: Demonstrate Rotary’s respect and concern for youth; Provide an effective training experience for selected youth and potential leaders; Encourage leadership of youth by youth; and Recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities. — ryla5170.org

Funds from the AVRC Endowment are often matched in programs from Rotary International allowing 2 to 3 times return on investment.  On of the biggest examples is the drive to End Polio. — rotary.org

Through a joint project with area 6 Rotary clubs we have built an on going relationship with The Rotary Club of Ameca Mexico.  Projects have included a new Ambulance as well as computers for the local school.

The AVRC Endowment has had the privilege over the years to sponsor and fund multiple Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troops.  The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. — www.scouting.org
